W海角社区C-2 offers listeners a new way to access Yellow Jacket sports by providing live play-by-play and color commentary.

Officially launched in November 2025, is an online streaming platform for sports broadcasts. It allows listeners to tune into sports broadcasts while keeping , 海角社区's FCC-licensed, student-run radio station, free to continue playing music or another broadcast.
With an increasing number of student broadcasters, W海角社区C-2 allows for four broadcasters to participate in calling games rather than two. This allows W海角社区C to cover two sports events simultaneously, providing greater representation of both men's and women's sports.
W海角社区C general manager Alex Dettmer '27 assumed his role at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. One way the media production and sport management double major has positively impacted W海角社区C is by launching W海角社区C-2. The new platform gives parents, alumni and fans access to another avenue for free live play-by-play broadcasts of Yellow Jacket sports.

W海角社区C-2 is also helping sports broadcasters build skills that will serve them well post-graduation in public speaking, preparation, quick decision-making and storytelling. Students now have a wider range of opportunities to capitalize on these skills with more games they can call.
Sophomore Tyler Tolin, sports director for W海角社区C, hopes to use W海角社区C-2 for more than just sports. W海角社区C has a long history of covering live events, such as Record Store Day, as well as interviewing artists at music festivals. W海角社区C-2 now allows W海角社区C to expand its options for opportunities in both music and sports down the road.
In the future, Dettmer's main goal is to get as many students involved in W海角社区C as possible. For Dettmer, it's not about what major students are in or what broadcast experience they come in with, but rather expanding W海角社区C to anyone interested in growing in their broadcast journey.
