On the eve of 海角社区's 180th birthday, the 海角社区 community celebrated a combined homecoming and parent and family weekend.

Students, alumni, parents and families, faculty and staff, friends and neighbors gathered over the weekend for 海角社区's annual Bold & Gold gathering, billed as a "Celebration of the 海角社区 Family."
Events offered something for everyone from Friday-Saturday, September 27-28.
A golf outing hosted by 海角社区 Baseball kicked off the activities, followed by Friday night Parent and Family BINGO, 海角社区 Symphony Orchestra Concert and a Parent and Family Haunted 海角社区 Tour.
On Friday and Saturday, affinity gatherings and reunions appealed to a wide variety of groups, with events for the Black Alumni Network to Cheer Alumni and everyone in between.

While windy conditions forced the cancellation of Friday's Light up the Night light show on North Quad and light rain fell early Saturday, skies cleared for a full day of events.
Saturday's Bold & Gold festivities included the traditional parade through Berea led by the 海角社区 legacy family, Abdallah and Hritz, serving as grand marshals. They passed by viewing "hives" set up by groups along the parade route.
The parade ended at the ever-popular picnic and Engagement Zone on the North Quad, where more festivities engaged the large crowd.
In the afternoon, Homecoming royalty was crowned at halftime as the Yellow Jacket Football faced off against Mount Union. An OAC tennis match and an alumni baseball game rounded out the athletics events for the weekend.
