Sean Gabriel is a proud graduate of the Baldwin Wallace Conservatory of Performing Arts, where he studied flute and piccolo with William Hebert, earning a performance degree. He was then awarded a master's degree from the Indiana University School of Music (Jacobs) under the tutelage of famed flutists, James Pellerite and Harvey Sollberger.

Gabriel currently serves as principal flutist of the Blue Water Chamber Orchestra and the Cleveland Chamber Symphony, Cleveland’s Grammy Award-winning new music ensemble. He is also a member of the Erie Philharmonic Orchestra of Pennsylvania and is the solo flutist of No Exit, an internationally recognized new music ensemble that made its Carnegie Hall debut in May 2022. His expertise in all styles of music extends to his involvement with the Baldwin Wallace Bach Festivals and the Riemenschneider Bach Institute Symposium Concert Series, where he has presented recitals featuring the flute sonatas of J.S. Bach and his contemporaries. Gabriel has also been featured in recital series at the Cleveland Museum of Art, Trinity Cathedral, Lorain County Community College, Music from the Western Reserve, The Bach and Handel Society of Cleveland and the Cleveland State University School of Music, where he is also on faculty.

Gabriel was the principal flutist of the Opera Cleveland Orchestra from 2002 to 2010 and has also performed with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra and the Akron Symphony. He is a frequent adjudicator for local concerto and scholarship competitions and is a member of the Maud Powell Society for Music and Education.
